Quiet please, we're watching The Librarians

With their series The Librarians, talented husband/ wife team Robyn Butler and Wayne Hope have created a weird and wonderful world of humour in one of the last places you'd expect to find it. Perhaps that's the key to the incredible success of what has become the longest running Aussie sit com currently on air.

Butler and Hope not only created and write the series, Butler also directs and they star as on-screen husband and wife: Butler as neurotic head librarian, Frances, and Hope as her be-ponytailed husband, Tony.

Now in it's third series, Andrew asks WSFM's Amanda Keller and Brendan Jones what it is about The Librarians that makes it so top shelf?

Twin Peaks turns twenty and my that cherry pie's still fine!

Twenty years ago, The Cosby Show was the highest rating show on TVDallas and Dynasty were on their last legs, and Melrose Place and Beverly Hills 90210 had only just begun.  TV Producer Aaron Spelling ruled the world and we worried quite a bit about Amanda's hemlines and poor Tori Spelling's boob job.

Then something strange happened.  We discovered the body of a young woman - washed up on a lakeshore, wrapped in plastic.  It was of course Laura Palmer - and with an orchestral swell, TV as we knew it was weirded out forever.

Andrew talks with Gretel Killeen (The Sun Herald) and Angus Fontaine (Time Out) about this landmark series and why it stands alone, twenty years on.
