The Set

You might not know his name, but you'll definitely know his face. Actor Roger Ward started his screen career in Aussie TV classics such as Division 4, Homicide and Matlock Police. But it was for his turns in the so-called Ozploitation films of the 1970's that he's probably best remembered. Stone, The Man from Hong Kong, Turkey Shoot and Mad Max all featured Ward's tall, distinctive frame, earning him praise from none other than Ozploitation buff Quentin Tarantino.

But what you probably, most certainly WON'T know is that he has also written a book, that was made into a film in 1970, called The Set - a film responsible for the downfall of Australia's first female daytime TV hostess and 1967's Gold Logie winner, Hazel Phillips.

To talk more about that film and the recent release of the book, Andrew is joined by actor/ author Ward and reigning Queen of Daytime, Kerri-Anne Kennerley.  And in a welcomel return to the small screen, Phillips is currently a contestant on channel Seven's Australia's Got Talent.
