It's no secret we found the first season of Winners & Losers underwhelming. For a show that leapt out of the gates with so much promise it soon reverted to safe, forgoing any potential to excite.  But that didn't stop it from finding a sizable audience AND being renewed for a 2nd season.  

So are we asking too much?  Does anyone care if Australian dramas eschew innovation in favour of longevity? Sure, actor, John Howard brings an interesting new texture to Australia's "best loved" series, Packed to the Rafters, but has Rush, now in its 4th season, started to shoot blanks?
